The “Looks”  of the 1000ha

The Asus comes with a glossy painted surface and real smooth edges.  The overall color pattern is consistent with the keyboard and touch pad matching the body color.  The 1000ha has brushed metal trim all around the netbook.  The 1000ha does feel chunky, but that is due to the stock 6-cell battery.

Construction of the Asus Netbook

The solid plastic makes up the body of the 1000ha which is excellent.  Because it seems  so rugged it can withstand the abuse of day to day use.  The glossy finish may show minor scratches and fingerprints, but very minimal.

Viewing the Asus EEE PC

The netbook allows you to view the 10″ LED backlit display for hours on end because it is so easy on your hours.  Colors are vibrant, whites are clear, and blacklit levels are very bright and consistent. The viewing angels of the 1000ha offer better viewing and brighter backlight levels.

Keyboard and Touchpad of the 1000ha

The keyboard of the 1000ha is very comfortable to type on but it is more cramped that one found on a full size notebook.  Key spacing on the 1000ha is average for a 10″ sub-notebook and is 95% that of the size of a generic keyboard.  You will get the hang of the layout quite fast on the 1000ha and find it is quite easy to use.

On the 1000ha the cursor movement has a bit of lag time between when your finger moves on the touchpad surface and when the cursor starts to move on the screen.  This can take your breath away.  The multitouch surface at times activate incorrectly because it senses pressure from your palm and fingertip at the same time.  This seems very good in theory, but it just does not work very well causing the 1000ha netbook to freeze until it completed its motion.

Performance of the 1000HA

System performance on the 1000ha is great. All applications seem to open without lag just like a full size computer.  When under a lot of pressure, the 1000ha showed some lag time when the processor activity was intense  such as smoothly scrolling a webpage, The 1000ha Intel Atom processory spiked upward of 60%. Boot and shutdown times are very good.  Gaming is out of the question on the 1000ha.
